University Of Ibadan International School Gives Female Student 2 Weeks Suspension For Wearing Hijab

    The University of Ibadan International School suspended a female student for allegedly wearing a hijab.


The female student identified as Ikhlass Olasubomi Badiru bagged two weeks suspension from the University of Ibadan International School.

Reports had it that Badiru earlier had issues with the school after her father, Idris Badiru accused the school principal and staff of maltreating her and other female students.

The details of the suspension were contained in a letter signed by the school principal, Mrs. Phebean O. Olowe.

According to the letter, the suspension would take place from Monday, October 7, to Friday, October 18.




The letter reads:

    “At the meeting of the Students Disciplinary Committee (SDC) looking into students’ misconduct held on Wednesday 28th August, 2019, you were found guilty of act of impudence to school authority.

    “Your action contravenes the school’s rules and regulations. Therefore, you are to serve two weeks full suspension effective from 7th September 2019 to 18th September, 2019.

    “Also, you and your parents shall be expected to report to the counsellor on Monday 21st October 2019 to present a written undertaking o the school to obey rules and regulations throughout your remaining days on the school.”
